Cuff Bracelets in Memory of Collin

A good friend's little boy lost his battle with cancer on March 23, 2011. He was a remarkable young man, and had just began first grade before the string of incomprehensible events occurred (read about Collin HERE). I can never imagine, nor do I hope I ever will, the pain his family endures. In addition to this, there are outstanding medical bills for his care that are an incredible amount.

To help ease their burden, you may purchase an 1100 pure aluminum cuff bracelet hand stamped with the words "Live Laugh Love". These bracelets are $12 each and 100% of the proceeds benefit Collin's family to help with his medical bills.

If you would like to help without receiving anything in return, you may donate directly to the family. You can either mail a check (made out to "Collin's Crew" or Julie Simon and Collin Neese") to P.O. Box 531, Greenwood, Indiana 46142, or you can donate directly to Collin's expense account, located with Heartland Community Bank. The account name is "Collin Neese and Julie Simon." Click HERE for more information about the bank, including locations around Johnson County you can visit. The bank's phone number is 317-738-3915 for more information.

Welcome!

Welcome to Sew Petite Boutique of Designs by Sarah! This little blog will be the place for all things kiddo.

I'd like to start by telling you all a bit about myself and my family. As of the time I'm writing this I am 28, married to a wonderful guy (Brian-30), and have two amazing boys (Benjamin-4 and Jacob-19mo). They truly mean the world to me and I would do and give anything for them. Brian and I are both full time students, he is studying Liberal Arts and I am set to graduate in December with a General Studies Associates concentrating in Math. After completion of this degree I plan on pursuing a business degree in some form or another.

Benjamin is currently in preschool and doing very well. He has a few problems with his social skills development, but he is getting better day by day thanks to the wonderful teachers that work with him. Ben is also diagnosed with Hypermobility Syndrome which is commonly confused with juvenile arthritis. This is a syndrome that most people afflicted with "double joints" actually have. It affects about 5% of the population and will cause pain for most of his life. Kids that have Hypermobility Syndrome are generally the ones people see being carried or in strollers when they look too big and should be walking. Ben often tells us his "legs are tired" because of the inflammation of his joints. Since both my husband and I have this, all of our children will have it. Hypermobility Syndrome does not mean he cannot do things that other children can, it simply means he will need to do regular strengthening exercises to reduce the amount of pain "normal" play can cause - as well as taking NSAIDs (ibuprofen) as needed.

Jacob is a daredevil. Just today we had to rush him to the ER because he decided to surf down a flight of stairs which landed him head first onto the floor (CAT scan was normal, mommy was the one freaking out!). I swear all of my hair is going to be gray after raising him! If something is climbable, he will find a way to climb and then jump off. He is non stop and constantly looking to get into everything he can get his hands on. Jacob certainly keeps me busy.

Brian is truly the love of my life! His uncle (only a few years older than him) married a friend I've known since I was 6. These two were relentless in "setting me up" with their friends. After several failed attempts and awkward double dates, I finally got up the nerve and put my foot down. I was not going to be set up on any more blind dates. Well, his uncle talked me into meeting "just one more guy" - and I'm sure glad I went along with it! Brian drove straight through without sleep from Utah to Indiana just to meet me. He arrived on a Sunday in May and we haven't spent a day apart since. I fell in love with him the moment I met him. We were married the following year on August 18th at my parents' home in their backyard (photos to come!).

Now that you know a little about me and my family, I hope you'll continue to stop by and check out what little creations I've made and the silly moments that occur in my family.
